Kurzfassung:
A peridynamic framework for modeling the mechanical response of geomaterials under complex loading scenarios is presented. For porous rocks, the model incorporates pore compaction mechanisms motivated by experimental observations. The model uses a pressure-dependent failure criterion motivated by the asymmetry between tensile and compressive behavior. It is applied to simulate the excavation process in mechanized tunneling via full-scale Linear Cutting Machine tests. A good match between the predicted forces and experiments is demonstrated.
